Baptism

Mark 16;16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved

What is baptism?  Baptism is burial by water a representation of Christ death and burial..as we are now dead to sin and alive in Christ.  On the day of Pentecost Peter told the ones who asked what it took to be saved " Repent ye, and be baptized everyone of you".  This also means we are born again not of the flesh or world but born again to Christ.  This is why he died on the cross ...so that we could repent of our sins and be baptized unto him to live and love for him.
Although I was a believer early on in life I was not baptized till I was a Sr. in H.S.  I think one should know the meaning behind it, understand it, and be able to repent of their sins and confess them to him before they are baptized.  This is the final step on the journey to Christ and his salvation.
If you have been reading my other blog and thought this story is not Christ like then stay tuned because all that is significant for what is coming later when we see forgiveness and salvation.

Step 2 Confess and Repent of Sin

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Yes, all that means you, it means me, it means everyone in the entire earth has sinned.  It doesn't matter what type of sin.  The 2nd step on the way to salvation is acknowledging that sin and repenting of it.   1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is rightful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness,   You see Jesus is the only way to salvation, the only one to be without sin and die for our sins on a cross at Calvary.  1 Peter 3;18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.  He was put to death in the body, but made alive in the Spirit.
When is the right time to do this?  Now, you might think you have time tomorrow, next month, or next year but that time is never promised.  I too once thought I had time but a few times I have been close to the end.  Only one of those times if I'd died would I have made it to heaven.  The other two, sadly I would have been forever in hell.  Stay tuned for step 3 coming in April.

Step one-Believe

John 3/16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only and begotten son so that
whosoever believeth in him might not perish but have ever lasting life.

Most people have heard this verse and many have it memorized.  It is the key first step in becoming a Christian and following Christ.  Can you imagine having your only son born only to have him die on a cross not for his wrong doings but the world's?  Unfathomable isn't it!  Yet it is what Christ did for us.  He knew in his adult hood that this was his great gift to us.  Luke 23:34 NIV version states Jesus saying:  Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

I can't prove to you that he exist but I know that he does.  There

are things that have happened in my life and just seeing all the stuff

in nature are proof for me.  I wish that this believing was all there

was to it but that's not the case.  Stay tuned for next week on step to

on the journey to Christ.
